DESCRIPTION: Up for auction is a 1977 Rickenbacker 4001 lefty bass guitar with serial number QK5109. It is completely original to my knowledge and still plays nice after all these years. It ships with the TKL hard shell case shown in the photos. It also ships with the original chrome pickup cover (can reinstall for you before shipping if desired), an extra flashy brass pick guard that I used back in the 80's and a "Zero mod" brand thumb rest with screws. It has flat wound strings installed and I've never used round wound strings on it. My starting bid is very low because I must sell it to cover a few medical bills so my loss is your gain. CONDITION: No 'relic' work done here. This bass is 40 years old and the road wear seen is the real deal. There are scratches, nicks and dings all in it - both front and back. There is a crack (as shown in the photos) along the edge of the fret board by the bridge. It was there when I first bought the bass used and I had a luthier look at it back then. He said it was previously repaired and recommended leaving it alone so I did. In all the years I've had it, the crack has never moved. There are also a couple of volume/tone knobs that feel loose but I think the nut onto the pick guard is coming loose - not sure. This will need to be fixed. Otherwise, the neck is pretty clean and the guitar still plays well. TERMS: Full payment must be made by PayPal within 24 hours of auction end! Please note that I ship by US Postal Service only. If you cannot receive packages from the USPS, please find someone that can receive the package by USPS for you or do not bid. If you are not sure, please contact me first and send me your postal code so that I can check on availability. Shipping to the US lower 48 states will be actual cost. If you live in the North Texas area, local pickup can be arranged. I will consider shipping internationally but you MUST CONTACT ME BEFORE YOU BID if you are an international bidder. International bids may be removed without notice if these terms are not met. All sales are final however I want to be sure you are happy with your purchase. If you find the item is not as described in this auction, please respond within 3 days of receipt of the item with any problems and I will do my very best to resolve it. Thank you for understanding. I have always worked hard to keep my 100% positive ebay feedback rating! :-) Please see my other auctions! Thank you for your interest!!!
