This is one of the most sought after corkscrews, the King rack and pinion corkscrew made by Dowler. Unfortunately it has had a mishap in that the handle for the rack and pinion has been broken but has been expertly repaired although the shaft length has reduced leaving it a little closer to the body of the corkscrew than it was originally. Having said that it works very well indeed with a completely smooth mechanism and it has a full length, straight, undamaged and very sharp screw. The handle is also in very good, undamaged condition although it has lost its brush, and the hanging ring is still present. The badge is very good with the original gilt finish making it stand out against the patina of the bronze barrel very nicely. With the repair to the rack handle this is a chance to get a really nice looking and fully functional Dowler King corkscrew at a relatively reasonable price. Dimensionally it is the normal 20cm long when closed, over 27cm when fully extended, and 8.5cm across the handle. Paypal is the preferred form of payment and there is no charge for this service. Personal cheques, postal orders and bank drafts are acceptable but these may delay shipment while funds are cleared. All payments must be in UK Pounds. All goods will be very carefully packed and sent by first class post or airmail unless otherwise stated. The quoted cost of delivery includes a small allowance for packing material. We are pleased to discount this P&P cost for multiple purchases wherever possible and, if our P&P estimate proves to have been too high, we will refund any excess payment after shipment.
