Offered for sale is a great EARLY ANTIQUE COTTON CHRISTMAS CANDY CONTAINER of SANTA CLAUS ON A CHURCH from the 1930's. This super Christmas putz house measures 6 inches tall by about 4 inches wide. It is made out of pasteboard with a cotton roof that has a mica dust coating. On top of the roof is a wonderful Belsnickle made out of spun cotton with a handpainted composition face. The Santa has a tiny metal hook attached to his head which I guess this may have also been used as a Christmas ornament. As you can see there is age related darkening of the cotton as well as the paper and tree on front of the church. The candy container is not marked but more than likely it was produced in Japan. Other than that the piece is in super shape for its age. A RARE size in a great Christmas item to use on or under your feather tree this Christmas season.
