I honestly believe that the 2006 Atlantis collection was the best collection that Himstedt ever did. It was imaginative, seductive, it was HER! I also believe that it was the collection that hurt her, that began the downward spiral toward the closing of her factory. There was such an outroar about the gold touches on the original dolls. So much that dolls were made without the gold touches. My Aleta is with the gold touches. They are somewhat subtle, to my eye and beautiful. The gold touches were her vision for the children of Atlantis collection. Aleta is a single head sculpt and an edition of only 277 dolls. She has long been sold out and has proved difficult to find. I am the original owner of my Aleta. She was bought in 2006 from the Toy Shoppe. She is number 25 of the 277 edition. Her hair has not been restyled, nor has it really been touched. Which is why it might seem a little messy because those Atlantis hair styles were a bit difficult to deal with unless you are pretty good with hair. She is all original with her boxes and certificate. She is not played with, but she has been displayed in my home since purchased in 2006. She is in very good condition, I do not see scratches on her or staining. Her box has been in storage and I can not guarantee that it will smell factory fresh. But it is in very good condition, as is Aleta. Her sculpt is magical. She seems to change expression with a tilt of her head. She is a 36 1/4 inch vinyl doll with upper arm joints. Her accessory is a net with real shells painted in gold. Her eyes are mouth blown glass eyes, made in Germany. She wears a pair of trousers under her gown. Her original price was $883 which was what I paid in 2006. I hope you will love her and treasure her as one of the most futuristically important dolls that Himstedt ever did. That is only my opinion. This was a truly special collection and Aleta is a very special doll. I regret parting with her. Shipping will be $50 insured. She is a very big, heavy doll with a large box. It may cost more than that to ship her, I will cover that if so. On Feb-05-12 at 08:47:41 PST, seller added the following information: An ebay member just asked me to remove Aleta's sandals and check for possible staining. She was correct, there is faint staining. I hope you can see it in the picture I've posted. It is faint, but it is there. On Feb-08-12 at 21:06:08 PST, seller added the following information: I have been asked about green dots on the doll and did not think there were any. I have found one tiny dot under Aleta's hair near her left ear. It does not show up in pictures. Thank you for the many inquiries.
