The Christensen Agate Co. was founded in 1925 and had closed its doors by 1933. It was not in operation for very long but some of Christensen's marbles are among the most sought after among marble collectors. Christensen marbles are known for the distinctness of their colors. The different color glasses did not tend to blend as much as they might with other manufacturers. This trait of Christensen glass makes their Swirls and Flames particularly sharp and desirable. They are equally well known for their Guineas. Supposedly these marbles were named after the colorful Guinea fowl that lived on the companies property.
