Here’s a Vintage LeCoultre Atmos Perpetual Motion Clock with a Very Low Serial Number offered at NO RESERVE!!!!!!!!! This came from an Estate and was locked when I acquired it, I do not know how long it had been that way. The first time I started it, it ran for about six hours and then stopped. The second time it was still running after about 29 hours when I stopped it so I could take the pictures you see here. Stopping it and starting it is not as simple as it should be; the locking lever is on the back, and requires bending it to get by the rear middle leg - you really need to bend the lever a lot to get past the leg. I could not do it with the clock standing on a table. I used blue painters tape to hold the pendulum in position and then moved the lever while holding the clock in my hand. The rear leg doesn’t have an adjustment like the front two legs do. I’ve had several of these over the years and they have all had the lock lever on the front so I wonder if this was an early design that they corrected later? The dial has various areas of wear and the outside case has medium tarnish and dullness to the finish. Considering that it’s such an early example I would say the cosmetic condition is Very Good. This will be shipped with the utmost care but it’s likely there will need to be adjustments and servicing after you receive it. Remember, there is NO Reserve on this Interesting Early Atmos Clock.
