This auction is for a first edition, first print of A Guide Book of United States Coins by R. S. Yeoman, 1947. This is NOT the reprinted copy done in 2007. There are no colored pages in this book. This is an original. This is a highly sought after item. There were only 9,000 copies made for the first print. This is a must have for any Red book collector or coin collector alike. The statement "which probably accounts for the scarcity of this date" on page 135 tells that this book is indeed a first print. The book itself appears to be in Very Good condition. The front and rear covers are still rich in color and gold inlay on the wording. The corners are slightly bumped and the spine is without tears or damage. There is some slight notation throughout the book that appears to be markings from the original owner indicating coins acquired. The inside front page also bears the original owners signature. There are no loose pages with the original glue still intact. However there is some separation on the back side of the cover, the front side is still intact.
